Similar to the HDLM in being waterproof, impact resistant and containing an internal backup battery, the LDLM is less than a third the weight of its heavy duty counterpart. Intended for use in applications requiring smaller, lighter, or more compact components such as aircraft or miniature ROVs, the LDLM still supports all the same firmware features and intelligent safety features as the HDLM including tracking and recovery, LED/strobe/anti-collision, master safety hardware control, and various forms of connected systems fault detections.
supplied antenna
The custom antenna supplied with the LDLM is water resistant, durable, and extremely compact at only 80mm long. This low-gain but highly efficient antenna has been tested to over 25 km (maximum range setting) and performs well in urban environments with substantial physical obstacles.
breakout adapter
In order to facilitate easy installation and integration with your existing hardware, the LDLM is supplied with a breakout adapter, a quick and straight-forward alternative to customising your hardware for direct compatibility with the LDLMs IDC16 connector. For those that do wish to design a direct interface with the LDLM, the pinout is provided in the user manual.
ANTENNA VERSATILITY
The LDLM features a standard SMA connector allowing for greater options in antenna selection and antenna placement, any generic SMA RG316 extension cable may be used to allow more versatile antenna placement and any antenna of an appropriate frequency may be used to achieve desired RF performance.
